COPYWRITING

Sunday, April 19
2:30 PM - 3:30 PM

John Gaver, owner of RV Inspector Pro, has been doing RV inspections in the Houston area for almost 3 years. While in the Navy, he was trained and worked as a machinist. After the Navy, John worked as a motorcycle mechanic, to help pay for college, where he obtained a degree in electrical engineering. Unfortunately, Texas Instruments laid off 9,000 people in early 1975, just before his graduation, so there were no jobs for new graduates, even one who graduated with honors. So instead, he spent about thirty years in various computer-related fields. About 10 years were spent in IT tech support (working on NASA systems, fighter jet and bomber simulators, numerous “secret” systems, and nuclear power plant systems - but he no longer glows in the dark). He also held several IT Management positions, where he was responsible for IT infrastructure, security, HVAC systems, programming, and disaster recovery. After retiring from the corporate world, at age 50, John owned several businesses, including a print shop, an import/export business, and a high-end IT consulting company. Those three companies in particular, required him to master the art of copywriting – the subject he will address for us.
